Most repaired vehicles with damage in excess of $2,000 will be considered to have substantial damage or structural concerns and will be adjusted down upon trade-in. Trade-in's with damage generally take an additional hit of $2,500 from the dealer as the vehicle will have to be liquidated at auction or wholesaled to a damaged vehicle buyer. Dealers will rarely retail a vehicle with previous collision repairs.
